Dog training classes in the yard attached to Corcoran’s shop on Dyer street have been suspended.

They will be resuming around the end of January / beginning of February but the venue will be changed. Please contact the kennels on 041 9811985 for further details.

Denis who has been running these classes for the last twenty years is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). This is the UK based organisation and not the America one which differs quite significantly in the way in which members can join. To become a member, of the UK APDT, dog trainers are assessed on their behaviour, training and learning theory knowledge, they are observed on their training methods and skills in instructing and, in addition, they have to commit to continuing their own learning in the area of behaviour and training. Denis was the first Irishman to be member and as far as we are aware is the only Irishman to be approved. More details about the APDT can be read on www.apdt.co.uk
